We zijn een familiebedrijf met een rijke geschiedenis, opgericht in 1968 door Bruno Pauwelyn en Beatrix Christiaens. Vandaag leiden hun dochters Sigrid en Dorethé Pauwelyn alles in goede banen.
Trotec is pionier in de verwerking van voormalige levensmiddelen tot hoogwaardig circulair ingrediënt voor diervoeder. In de afgelopen 55 jaar zijn we parallel geëvolueerd met de sterke groei van de industriële voedselproducerende bedrijven.
Total Partnership, Revalorisation, Optimisation, Transparency, Ecology and Circularity, Trotec for short, is a family business with a rich history. It was founded in 1968 by Bruno Pauwelyn and Beatrix Christiaens. Today, their daughters Sigrid and Dorethé Pauwelyn run the company.
Trotec is a pioneer in processing former foodstuffs into high-quality circular ingredients for animal feed. Over the past 55 years, we have evolved in parallel with the strong growth of industrial food producers.
A sustainable solution
Trotec transforms former foodstuffs of vegetable origin and unsold food products from the food industry and retail. These products are no longer fit for human consumption for a variety of reasons. The inbound products can be either bulk products or packaged goods.
We keep these valuable food products in the food chain. Trotec thus offers a sustainable and circular solution to industrial food companies and contributes to the EU goal of reducing food waste by 50% by 2030. For animal feed manufacturers, Trotec offers a high-quality circular feed ingredient that significantly reduces the carbon footprint of animal feed.

Trotec actively participates in the circular economy by avoiding food waste. However, this goes far beyond processing former foodstuffs.

Trotec werkt actief mee aan de circulaire economie door voedselverspilling te vermijden. Dit gaat veel verder dan het verwerken van voormalige levensmiddelen.
- We stimuleren elk middel en elke actie om voedselverspilling tegen te gaan.
- We onderschrijven alle duurzame consumptie- en productiepatronen.
- We hebben de ambitie om in elke fase van de verwerking technologisch de voorloper te zijn.
- We beschikken over een eindproduct dat beantwoordt aan de hoogste kwaliteitsnormen; zonder voedselveiligheid is er immers geen circulariteit mogelijk.
- We verlenen actief onze medewerking aan bedrijven, organisaties en instanties die duurzaamheid en de circulaire economie hoog in het vaandel dragen.
- We stimuleren al onze medewerkers om deze circulaire visie actief uit te dragen.

Trotec share in your sustainability report
Working with Trotec is working together for a sustainable circular future! Every year, Trotec processes around 250,000 tonnes of former foodstuffs. With this quantity, we produce 220,000 tonnes of TrotecMix, our circular feed ingredient.
TrotecMix can be used to replace primary feed crops such as corn, wheat, barley and even sugar and palm oil. Using 220,000 tonnes of TrotecMix instead of these primary feed crops:
- saves 361.7 million m³ of water annually
- avoids 138.6 million kg of CO2 emissions annually
- keeps 36,667 hectares of agricultural land free annually for crops for human consumption
